The Costa De la Luz Golf Courses are some of the least known of over 100 Golf Courses in Andalucía.
However what they may lack in reputation they make up ten fold in quality and value for money compared to so many courses along the South Coast of Spain. The Costa De la Luz is the coastal area close to the towns of Cadiz and Jerez, and for the purpose of this section we have included a number of courses inland from the coast and the Area of Spain from the Portuguese boarder and Gibraltar. We have visited and played all the courses listed in this review so only give you first hand reviews of the golf courses.
The Montenmedio golf course ( 6260 meters , 18 holes , par 72 ) is unique and different from all Spanish courses. Not a single building affects its fairways and greens, surrounded by forests of wild olive trees, oaks, pines , Montenmedio offers stunning views over the Atlantic, white villages such as Vejer , Benalup, Medina and also over the African coast Tangier and Espartel. Playing 18 holes is always fun and surprising : deer , rabbits , ducks and other animals accompany the player along his gentle route

The new Club de Golf Campano, located in a unique natural area, has an 18-hole par 72 between pines and olive trees. It has driving range, golf academy, clubhouse with restaurant and pro-shop. Everything you could want at your service with the utmost care and kindness.
Golf Campano, formerly San Andrés Golf, the name of the quiet residential area where it is located, and it was a small colony of Englishmen who sought the Costa de la Luz as ideal resting place. It opened in 1985 as a 9-hole course, and for twenty years has remained hidden from the golf tourism, known only to local fans.
The original design of this golf course was Robert Trent Jones Sr. The possibly best known and best designer of golf courses of all time. It has left its mark on every continent, here in Spain the best known are the Real Golf de Sotogrande, Las Brisas, Marbella and Golf Valderrama course. In 2006 it began to regain the original project, building the remaining 9 holes to finally conclude a championship 18-hole extra class.
After the game the extensive facilities invite you to relax. A terrace with a wonderful view over the first fairway and modern and friendly restaurant in the clubhouse gives you the opportunity to share their experiences of the day. The traditional local cuisine with seafood and fish meat Cadiz coast and the nearby mountains of Cadiz provide the golfer renewed strength.
Just 2 words describe the Novo Sancti Petri golf course which is nowadays considered by many to be the great Severiano Ballesteros’ masterpiece: Challenges and Beauty. Novo Sancti Petri golf course, the first one designed in Spain by the indomitable and demanding Ballesteros, has been laid out so that players can enjoy the entire philosophy of the game and of Seve’s indomitable spirit in its purest form. 36 holes divided into two rounds of par 72 (round A: Sea – Pines, and round B: Centre). The first 27 holes were opened in 1990, and the remaining 9 were opened in April 2001.
Novo Sancti Petri golf course, with a total of 36 holes, presents a wide variety of undulating fairways and stepped greens, protected by bunkers, water hazards, and abundant vegetation that is typical of the area (pines, cork oaks, mastic trees, olive trees, etc.), which require players to use maximum concentration and precision when attacking the flags. The views over the ocean and the seemingly endless beach of La Barrosa, and the almost omnipresent sea breeze, make the game more difficult and more attractive along a course that is interesting at all levels.
The golf rounds at Novo Sancti Petri Club are a challenge at the level of the most daring golfers. As is known all over the world, Seve was the greatest and most charismatic Spanish golfer of all time, and the most honoured at international level: he won two Masters at Augusta – becoming the first European to win the Masters since its inauguration in 1934 -, three British Opens, four Ryder Cups, a Prince of Asturias Prize for Sport, and 82 further titles.
the renowned Sea and Pines course at Novo Sancti Petri golf course, the first 9 holes offer wide fairways and the feeling of finally being on holiday. The views over the magnificent artificial water obstacles prepare you for the spectacular 6th hole, where the green is just above the beach, and from where there is a view of a sunset so spectacular that you almost forget to walk off. The 9th hole leads to the complicated pine round, first passing through the club house and the caddy master. Here, it is a case of overcoming obstacles in the form of pine trees – on the other hand, there are no water hazards. That round at Novo Sancti Petri par 72 is a classic of its design, with 4 par 3 holes, 10 par 4 holes, and 4 par 5 holes.
In this varied round at the Novo Sancti Petri golf course, the first nine holes just opposite the caddy master are flat, with a lake between holes 5, 8, and 9. From holes 10 to 13, the terrain is undulating and offers excellent views over the Atlantic Ocean, with water hazards between holes 10 and 13. Holes 5 to 13 were opened in 2001. There is another lake between holes 14, 15, and 16. On the 18th hole, the course designer immortalised himself with a bunker shaped like an “S” for Severiano.
The course, which is also a par 72, has an especially attractive design that is rarely seen, characterised by 6 par 3 holes, 6 par 4 holes, and 6 par 5 holes, which make it different, demanding, and unmistakeable.
This Golf course offers 18 holes very interesting for maximum enjoyment.
We have practice area for short game (+ net to practice, and agreement with Novo Sancti Petri Golf driving range), caddymaster, Pro-shop, Restaurant-Bar y Outdoor terrace, and the golf school of our friends from Chiclana Family Golf Park. The golf course is located within the famous Roche pine, and overlooking the Sierra de Cadiz, where tranquility reigns.
