COSTA NAVARINO – A Greek Golfing Masterpiece

Golf in Greece? I was having a conversation a couple of years ago with a good friend and PGA Professional who was raving about a new golf resort development he had visited in Messinia Greece, a few hours drive from Athens. He assured me this was going to be something special in the future. We regularly hear about the next big thing in golf resorts at trade shows and in the travel press but sadly grand plans and reality don’t always come to fruition. Thankfully on this occasion, the grand plans of the Costa Navarino Resort have not only come to fruition they are being expanded to be the best golf resort in the whole of Europe and it’s pretty amazing already. Two golf courses are currently in operation and are both superb in design and setting with another two in the early construction stage this, without a doubt, has lived up to the initial excitement.

Costa Navarino - Getting hereCosta Navarino Resort, is home to two 5-star Hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, part of the Starwood Hotels portfolio, a conference centre, Anazoe Spa and Thalassotherapy, The Dunes Course – the first signature golf course in Greece, two specially designed children hubs, Cocoon and SandCastle, along with numerous culinary venues and a wide variety of sports, outdoor and cultural activities on offer. Navarino Bay, just a few minutes from Navarino Dunes, is home to the second signature golf course, The Bay Course.

Costa Navarino is located in an unspoilt, breathtaking seaside landscape in the Greek region of Messinia, south-west Peloponnese. Costa Navarino philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to promote Messinia while protecting and It comprises a number of distinct sites featuring 5-star deluxe hotels, luxury residences, conference facilities, spa and thalassotherapy centres, signature golf courses, as well as a wide range of unique year-round activities for adults and families.

Getting there – During the summer season (May – September) flights are available to Kalamata a 45 minute transfer from the Costa Navarino resort from a number of UK Airlines including British Airways and Easy Jet. in the spring and autumn when the weather in the Messinia region is great for golf the best option is to fly to Athens and transfer by road to the resort.

Beachfront located by the coastline of The Dunes Beach, in the Greek region of Messinia, south-west Peloponnese, and overlooking the Ionian Sea, The Westin Resort Costa Navarino is the ideal destination for golfers of all levels. Two award-winning signature golf courses, The Dunes Course and The Bay Course, 18-hole and par-71 each, exceed your expectations and set Costa Navarino as the new luxury golf destination in Greece. In a landscape of diverse topography with spectacular sea and river views, both golf courses have been designed to create a unique rhythm and flow, perfectly balancing excitement, challenge and breathtaking vistas. Crafted across natural terrain to reflect the rugged outlines of the distant mountains – with several holes playing directly along the sea, these beautiful courses are also complemented by a well-appointed clubhouse for an unforgettable golfing experience.

COSTA NAVARINO GOLF

Costa Navarino offers to all guests a unique, world-class Greek golf experience deserving of its historical seafront setting. A premier golf destination featuring two 18-hole signature courses, dramatically different in terrain and characteristics, both however situated on seafront properties, boasting wonderful views in all directions.

The Dunes Course

The Seaside Dunes Course at Navarino Dunes, designed by former US Masters Champion and Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer, in association with European Golf Design, opened in May 2010 and is the first signature golf course in Greece.

This 18-hole par-71 championship golf course includes some links-style features in areas closest to the sea. Parts of the course venture into olive and fruit groves, while several holes run along a small river. Combined with large undulating greens, wide fairways and steep faced pot bunkers, the links element of the course adds to its unique style and playability so that each of the 18 holes presents a matchless challenge.

The Dunes Course includes a full-size driving range and a short game practice area with the largest green in Europe, Dunes Clubhouse with a well-appointed dining and function areas, for pre and post round activities, a designated members lounge with terrace and an exclusive Pro shop.

With the majority of tees offering inspiring sea views, the 18-hole seaside Bay Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, meanders through three distinct natural landscapes. The Seaside, Canyon, and Grove holes provide striking contrasts that make for an intense and memorable golf round.

The Bay Course plays to a par of 71 from a variety of lengths designed to challenge golfers of various skill levels. Crafted across the natural terrain, the layout is offering panoramic sea and mountain views, having also some holes that play directly along the sea.

Venue of the Week

0
Every Two weeks we will be having a promotion to showcase a particular venue or a Golf Course or it could be a Hotel.

This weeks Showcase is Real Club de Golf Guadalmina

Guadalmina was discovered in 1933 by Norberto Goizueta, who sailed with his family on his boat along the coast. He decided to live there. He first grew maize and after the war, a special type of grass, because he already had plans to build a golf course,

The grounds of Guadalmina is relatively narrow at the coast and go inland. Along the ground to the west, lies the Rio Guadalmina. Located on the coast, most of the holes are located further inland.

The golf club was founded in 1959. An 18-hole golf course right away was constructed which have only a few holes sea. The club now has over 2000 members from seventeen different nationalities.

In 1973, the second runway was built and the par-3 course was developed in 1989. The old hotel has been renovated and now has four stars. In 2008, the club received the predicate Royal.

At Guadalimina there are 2 courses The North and the South Courses plus a Putting Green and Driving Range.

South Course

This is the oldest course, is renowned for its difficulty, thus making it more suitable for experienced players. Fairways are narrow and well protected by old trees requiring more straight shots.

South Guadalmina, the first 18 holes of the 45 that make up the golf course of Guadalmina, was opened in 1959 and is the second oldest in the Costa del Sol. It is characterised by the fairways that wind through the shade of ancient trees.

The fairways are wide and are virtually free of rough. In 2002 the Guadalmina Sur course was completely renovated and is now, to all intents and purposes, a new course with new tees including “Super-Seniors”. The greens were rebuilt and the fairways re-seeded.

White 6082 m Par 72
Yellow 5820 m Par 72
Blue 5431 m Par 72
Red 5031 m Par 72
Black 4376 m Par 72

North Course

Guadalmina North is considered less complicated than Guadalmina Sur. Although it covers more ground, is more undulating and contains more trees and water hazards.

The Guadalmina River divides the course from north to south and comes into play on the 17th. If this were not enough, there are lakes on holes 7, 9, 11 and 18. The course was designed by Folco Nardi and opened in 1972. It is shorter and Hiller than the south course and has more water obstacles.

The course requires straight drives down the middle of the fairways as failure to do so may have one ending up in one of the numerous water hazards hidden in the rough.

White 5600 m Par 72
Yellow 5470 m Par 72
Blue 4795 m Par 72
Red 4790 m Par 72

Besides the two 18 holes golf courses, Guadalmina complex offers a par 3 nine hole course.

Also, there is the Driving range Real Club de Golf Guadalmina has a 40 bays grass driving range, 21 bays covered area, chipping and putting green and practice bunker.

The driving range and the practice areas, like the chipping and putting green make of Guadalmina a great reference of the Golf in Spain and Andalucía.

We have a number of trips planned through the winter months so instead of playing in the cold, rain and wind, sign up for a great golf holiday with our qualified PGA Professionals. A Spring Golf training academy is a great way of improving your game. instead of having a half-hour lesson every other week think how your game can improve with eight hours of structured lessons through the duration of the academy. Everything is covered from driving to the short game. once you have spent the morning with your PGA professional you can put what you have learned into practice on some of Europe’s top golf courses.

We organise a number of golf training academies throughout the winter each year and believe that as well as improving your game it’s also a great golf holiday. The weeks are open to golfers of all standards and dependent on your abilities the individual tuition is tailored to your needs. if you would like additional tuition on certain aspects of your game we will be happy to organise a special 1-2-1 session for you during the week. Numbers are restricted on each of our Golf training academies so you get the best possible attention and benefits out of your academy.

Penina Hotel & Golf Resort: The Home of Golf in the Algarve

Positioned in the western Algarve, Penina Hotel & Golf Resort is widely renowned as the true home of Portuguese golf. This is the only resort in Portugal to offer three golf courses… one of which, The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, is the first 18-hole course to have been constructed in the Algarve – and is legendary for some of the finest and most challenging golf in the world. Set in a stunning 360-acre estate, amidst an impressive array of natural landscape surroundings, the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort has been voted Portugal’s Leading Golf Resort by the World Travel Awards… whilst the marquee Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course has hosted 10 Portuguese Opens and scores of other prestigious tournaments.

Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course

Designed and completed in 1966 by the great Sir Henry Cotton, the course stands as a shining example of golfing architecture and one man’s passion for the great game of golf. Whether the former championship golfer had any inkling of the mark he was laying down when he first began implementing his vision upon the Algarve paddy fields from which his course sprung, we don’t know… what we do know is the staggering extent of the legacy that he created.

Known as one of the most challenging – and satisfying – courses in the whole of Portugal, this marquee course is as unforgiving as it is beautiful. Flanked by streams, ditches and water hazards, the course is maintained to the highest standard… and boasts an extensive array of subtle slopes, elevated greens and breath-taking scenery.

Resort Course

A great combination course that provides 9 holes of solid, but gentle, practice for beginners… as well as 18 holes of challenging golf for the more seasoned player. With 18 well thought out holes, this course follows the principles laid down by the father of Portuguese golf, Sir Henry Cotton: the perfect course for golfers of every level and ability.

cascata

Cascata Golf Club(Las Vegas)

Cascata’s private gates open to a spectacular landscape that forms a regal backdrop for a golf experience like no other.

The par-72 course provides stunning vistas at every turn, including the 3,600-foot peak at Red Mountain, lush fairways, lakes, and streams. Class A PGA professionals attend to equipment, fashion or instruction needs, and players are accompanied on-course by a Tour-class caddie.

The Tuscan-style, 37,000-square-foot clubhouse offers an Old World ambience of unpretentious luxury, where attentive staff members oblige your every need. The dining room features an appetising menu sure to impress every taste. An excellent collection of rare and fine tobaccos is stocked in the cigar lounge’s custom-designed humidor.

The golf shop carries an array of equipment, stylish apparel and accessories. The men’s and ladies’ lounges are equipped with every conceivable amenity, including sink-side, flat-screen TVs.

Pinehurst No. 2, the centrepiece of Pinehurst Resort, remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses. It has served as the site for more single golf championships than any course in America and hosted back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships for the first time in 2014. The U.S. Open will return in 2024.

Opened in 1907, No. 2 was designed by Donald Ross, who called it “the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed.” Ross was associated with the course for nearly a half-century, improving the course continually until his death in 1948. No. 2 is best known for its crowned, undulating greens, which are some of the most complex and widely hailed in the world. Ross believed in providing golfers with strategic choices, and Pinehurst No. 2 was intended to epitomise that philosophy.

The Idaho Club is home to Idaho’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. As one of the world’s preeminent golf course designers and the greatest golfer who ever played, Jack Nicklaus turned the design into an art form as he carefully weaved fairways and greens into this exceptional panoramic landscape. The result is an impressive 18-hole championship golf course that, through the combination of breath-taking beauty and picturesque course architecture, delivers an unforgettable golf experience.

Beyond the championship golf, you can hike along mountain wetlands frequented by moose, elk and deer, and relax your body and mind while enjoying breathtaking sunsets followed by the brilliant patterns of the Northern Lights.

These are only a few of the reasons the western edge of the Rocky Mountains has quickly become a favourite destination for adventure seekers. The splendour of the Idaho landscape, with its high mountain peaks, alpine lakes and lush forests, provides the perfect retreat for families, outdoor enthusiasts and those just looking to reconnect with nature.

Costa Navarino Resort, is home to two 5-star Hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, part of the Starwood Hotels portfolio, a conference centre, Anazoe Spa and thalassotherapy, The Dunes Course – the first signature golf course in Greece, two specially designed children hubs, Cocoon and Sandcastle, along with numerous culinary venues and a wide variety of sports, outdoor and cultural activities on offer. Navarino Bay, just a few minutes from Navarino Dunes, is home to the second signature golf course, The Bay Course.

Costa Navarino is located in an unspoilt, breathtaking seaside landscape in the Greek region of Messenia, south-west Peloponnese. Costa Navarino philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to promote Messenia while protecting and It comprises a number of distinct sites featuring 5-star deluxe hotels, luxury residences, conference facilities, spa and thalassotherapy centres, signature golf courses, as well as a wide range of unique year-round activities for adults and families.

PGA Catalunya Resort is the culmination of more than 20 years’ work that continues to deliver on – and goes beyond – the vision of its founders. It incorporates two established championship-standard golf courses located near the picturesque town of Girona, Spain. The resort is owned by Irish entrepreneur Denis O’Brien and who also owns Quinta do Lago in Portugal.

This infrastructure includes two world-class golf courses – a Stadium course, recently voted the No.1 course in Spain for the third year in a row, and more gentle Tour course – a Golf Clubhouse, a Membership Clubhouse with private lounge, restaurant, and an exceptional Residents Club for owners, complete with indoor and outdoor swimming pool & children’s pool, indoor spa pool, tennis courts, fitness centre and treatment rooms.

montecastallio

Monecastallio – (Spain)

18 hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and considered as one of the best golf courses in Europe. The course was the home of the Volvo Masters for 5 consecutive years 1997-2001 and of Peugeot Tour of Spain during 3 years 2001-2003. It has also hosted in 2009, the Barcelo PGA Tour of Spain.

Montecastillo is one of Spain’s best value golf resorts and owned by Barcelo Hotels, who have already invested heavily in bringing the golf course back to its very best condition, with new bunkering which is great news, as this really is a Jack Nicklaus masterpiece. The hotel lies to the right-hand side of the spectacular cliff top18th hole, where a slice will put you out of bounds and into the hotel gardens!

The course has hosted the Volvo Masters 3 times and is in close proximity to the lovely historic town of Jerez, which is famous for its wine and sherry cellars. The golf clubhouse is set in an old Castillo, with a superb spa treatment centre and a great indoor swimming pool.

Royal Lytham & St Anne’s Golf Club was founded in 1886 and the present Course constructed in 1897. The Clubhouse celebrated its Centenary in 1998. It is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to ten Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments including the Women’s and Seniors Open Championships. Northern hospitality has always been famous and Royal Lytham leads the way. You will be made very welcome.

The layout of Royal Lytham & St Annes has remained faithful to the original created by the Club’s first Professional, George Lowe, over a century ago. The only significant changes were made in 1919 when the club asked Harry Colt, the pre-eminent Course Designer of the time to make recommendations for improvement. It is renowned as a Course on which is it hard to scramble a good score, after all, there are 206 bunkers peppering the Fairways and surrounding the Greens. It may not be the longest of courses but it is one where careful thought and accurate shots are required.

Onyria P Golf  – links and parkland in a spectacular seaside setting  Within the natural amphitheatre of the Bay of Lagos, Robert Trent Jones II has fashioned Europe’s next great golf course, Onyria Palmares Golf. The brief given to this exceptional American golf course designer was to craft a 27-hole golf course which maximised the potential of its extraordinary environment.  The result is a golf course of breathtaking natural beauty which is a delight to play. The course opened 18 holes for play in October 2010 and the full 27 last June 2011 and it has matured nicely.

Robert Trent Jones II designed the golf course with the highest level of international tournament golf in mind as well as a pleasurable golf experience for members and tourists alike.  There is plenty of challenge if that’s what you want – especially from the white tees! Onyria Palmares Golf is composed of three returning nine-hole loops that can be played in any sequence. The genius in the routeing is that, depending on the sequence of play, each golf experience is different.  Each nine-hole loop has its own character and ambience.

In May 1990, the Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club started its journey with 27 holes, and today it has become one of the best golf courses in Europe. December of that year saw the official inauguration of the Clubhouse in the presence of HRH the Count of Barcelona, representatives of public authorities, founder members, and its designer, Severing Ballesteros.

Since that day, the Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club has changed considerably. Today it boasts a Golf Academy, Jack Nicklaus Academy, and even a children’s club. In 2000, the club was extended to 9 holes to complete the 2 full rounds you can currently play, named Mar (sea) and Pinos y Centro (pines and centre), totalling 36 holes. What is more, Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club offers 18 further holes, providing its clients with a total of 3 rounds of golf (all par 72) with different characteristics, that is to say, 54 holes in all. The practice course has been extended and equipped with sheltered facilities. Today it has more than 150 training spaces. They are 300 metres long, with several areas for chipping with a bunker, a pitch-and-putt course and 3 short holes, as well as 4 putting greens. Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club has undoubtedly some of the highest-quality practice facilities in the south of Spain

North Granite Ridge – (Canada)

Designing this golf course within this type of landscape was truly inspiring. The variety of golf holes that play through these boulders and trees or utilise the elevations provided by the granite ridges is second to none. It was easy to find fabulous green sites framed by trees and granite without altering the terrain. A number of tee decks are perched on the top of these granite ridges, providing long-range vistas over the forest, without a road to be seen or heard… it was beyond compare.

If there is a hidden gem in the world of golf, then North Granite Ridge sparkles brightly. It is up to you to come and discover this place for yourself.

We hope you all enjoy the Christmas and New Year celebrations and look forward to seeing you next year.

Neil, Rob, Rachel, Kelly, Kevin

Travellers Advice – Airline Baggage

Airline Baggage – TO PACK OR NOT TO PACK, THAT IS THE QUESTION?

JANUARY NEWSLETTER – Airline Baggage

Travelling around the world sounds like a glamorous life, but living out of a suitcase on a regular basis or just on your annual holiday can be a problem when you are restricted by the Airline baggage policy.

Here are our best tips, things to avoid and which carriers have the best Airlines baggage rules.

You’re going away on that hard earned two week annual holiday or a short weekend city break and as you queue at the airport check in you regularly see people who have large amounts of bags to check in. I often think what on earth have they packed and do they really need everything in there Samsonite travel suitcase the size of a tea chest which they struggle to place on the bag drop conveyer belt.

I am not one to boast as a travelling golfer and a Professional dive instructor there are times when my Airline baggage has looked more like a six month expedition rather than a 10 day trip but I for one make sure nothing I take away with me is not used.

Tip 1 – Cabbin baggage

Invest in a good quality usable carry on travel bag. This in the long run will save you time looking for things at the airport, have room for all your needs for a short break and gives you options for a few extra kilo’s leeway for a longer trip.

What makes a good travel bag?

Airline baggage - carry on bagsThere are two main options, wheeled bag or rucksack. The wheeled bag usually gives the best packing options for clothes packing and easy transportation around airports and any other well paved areas.

Rucksack are often more practical if you are travelling to a more far flung destination or any situation where you know you will need to have your hands free or may have to hurry between forms of transport. Whichever one you prefer one of the most important features is to have a secure pocket where you can store your travel documents and passport safely but still have access to them when needed.

Things to consider?

  • Dimensions of bag – Strict Cabin baggage dimension limits on many of the low cost carriers.
  • Weight of bag when empty – remember you will have to lift into an overhead locker.
  • Document pockets – to keep you Passport safe and sound
  • Able to be locked – any added security is a benefit (but don’t lose the key)
  • Are you carrying toiletries or Liquids in your hand luggage, if you intend to consider buying in the departure lounge or on arrival in your destination (most  good hotels supply complimentary toiletries)

Most Airline baggage rules work on either a weight basis or dimension basis on average this equates to something between 7 – 10 kgs. Many low cost airlines restrict passengers to 1 cabin bag per person, a restriction brought in after the airborne terror attacks; the majority of Schedule national airlines allow 1 main cabin bag plus a laptop bag or handbag.

Important note

Please remember all airlines have restrictions on amounts of Liquids you can take through Airport security control.

If you do take liquids in your hand luggage then:

  • containers must hold no more than 100ml
  • containers should be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm
  • contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed
  • the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top
  • it is limited to 1 plastic bag per person
  • you must show the bag at the airport security point

Liquids bought in the departure lounge of UK airports comply with all regulations,

Tip 2 – Checked Baggage

Airline baggage - excess baggage

Exciding your baggage allowance on a flight can seriously damage you wealth!!!

The first thing when choosing your flight either long or short haul is to consider the free Airline baggage allowance given by the airline. Even on a short haul flight when taking bags into consideration the so called “low cost carriers” can be more expensive than a national airline (the national airline will probably give you a free drink as well). If you are restricted to 20kgs for your trip, firstly think about the bag you are taking. Most wheeled bag are great to move around but unless they are of a modern low weight construction the chances are that will take up to 25% of your “free” Airline baggage allowance before you start to pack.

Don’t assume that all airlines give the same baggage allowances. Standard free Airline baggage allowances can range in economy class from 30kgs per person to a miserly 15kgs. The other consideration is if your Free weight allowance is calculated on a weight of piece restriction. Why is this important? Well a 30Kgs allowance on a weight bases will allow you to take maximum 30kgs over a number of bags (this is usual on most USA Bound transatlantic routes) so for example you can take a set of golf clubs weighing 13kgs and a case 17kgs and be fine. On a piece restriction you can check in the number of pieces of luggage allowed (often only one) to a maximum of the permitted allowance, so please read the small print!

Airline baggage - iflybagsIf you want a great way to compare or check baggage allowances across the airlines and see what the potential costs of excess baggage could be there is an excellent website especially for this iflybags.com

Make sure your bag is easily identified! As you stand waiting for your bags to arrive on the luggage carousel how often do you see someone peer at your bag, or you wonder if you can actually recognise the old black square bag you packed your prized possessions in. Tie something easily recognisable on your bag or handle or even purchase a bag that stands out from the rest. Always make sure you have a baggage tag with your contact details or forwarding address on and if the worst comes to happen and your bag disappears the bag can be forwarded to you or returned to your home address. Please also make sure your check in bag receipt is kept in a safe place this is the first thing they will ask you for when a bag goes missing.

Take what you need! Make a list, it sounds basic but a lot of people take things they don’t need and forget some pretty important things they do. Remember where ever you are travelling too in the world most day to day items are readily available (toiletries etc) in local supermarkets, nearly all Hotels offer a clothes washing service for you (Overnight if needed). Weigh your bags if possible before you leave, check in staff will sometimes be able to grant a few extra kilos grace so again it pay’s to be pleasant and smile at the baggage drop, if you are over consider an item you could put into your hand luggage, an offer to do so is often enough to allow your bag to go through, especially if it’s a piece of electrical equipment.

If you travel on a regular basis with the same airline, join there frequent flyers club, although you may have to circumnavigate the globe a couple of times to get a free flight they give you extra benefits, this may well be complimentary additional baggage allowance! What it will do when you present your card at check in or bag drop is let the staff know you are a regular customer of the airline, you will be far more likely to be given a few kilos grace on a busy flight, or that extra help if you are late for a flight.

Tip 3 – Sports Equipment (or other large items)

Airline baggage - golf coverThis is the point when many airlines’ start taking the “Mickey” especially the low cost carriers, some charging more for a sports bag than for the seat itself, we all know who they are but £25-£30 is the normal rate per leg of your flight, however go long haul and you may find it costing you far more than that. There are exceptions to these of course. Both Emirates and Ethiad Airlines allow free carriage of golf clubs, but not other sports equipment. TAP the Portuguese national carrier allowed until a few months free golf club carriage; however they now charge 20 euro a leg which over the last few months has been a discretionary charge at check in. The best advice before you book a flight is to check with the airline or tour operator as different rules and charges apply to different routes. Thomson’s charter flights should also be given a pat on the back at this point, yes they do charge for a set of golf clubs but at only £15 for a return flight its pretty good value in the sector they operate in.

Airline baggage - luggage labelsIf you’re a certified diver a number of airlines will allow a top up allowance (usually 5kgs) on production of a current “cert” card but you still have to pack it all into whatever the bag limits are on the flight. If you take an extra bag the chances are it will cost £££££.

When travelling with golf clubs remember to invest in a good travel cover for your clubs, a well padded bag is better than an unpadded bag with wheels especially if you want your prized possessions to arrive in the same condition you carefully packed them when you left home. If you regularly travel with golf clubs or plan to travel regularly in the future, spend a little more on your golf travel bag. Most budget bags although they come with an impressive list of features rarely manage to survive more than 4 or 5 trips, that’s fine if you only travel every other year or so, in the long run you will save money.

Things to remember?

  • Good quality bags – Carry on, checked luggage or Golf travel covers.  Buy the best while still being most suitable for the type of travel you do.
  • Make a list. It will help you pack what you need.
  • Make sure you can easily identify your bag and its luggage labels are correct for your journey.
  • Check the baggage allowances and baggage rules before you book, if in doubt ask the Airline or your tour operator.

Finally whatever you are doing, enjoy your hard earned holiday.
